Joshua Bacon, Registered Architect, Founder of Bacon Architect Studio
Joshua Bacon is a registered architect based in Aotearoa New Zealand, with experience in residential design, sustainable architecture and advanced illustrative communication. He began his career in Australia, working across a broad range of project types — including swimming pools and community centres, schools, bars and clubs — while also developing a strong residential focus tailored to straw bale, rammed earth and reclaimed timber construction. During this time, he ran his own practice in Sydney, refining a hands‑on, client‑centred approach.

After relocating to New Zealand, Joshua worked as a Project Architect at Buchan and later at Box, contributing to significant residential and commercial projects. These roles strengthened his ability to balance design clarity with technical delivery, and deepened his interest in architecture that responds to place and lifestyle.

Now living on Waiheke Island, Joshua has established Bacon Architect Studio, bringing together his architectural expertise and illustrative skills to offer clients an integrated, design‑led service. His work is grounded in sustainability, clarity and collaboration — creating homes that are responsive, enduring and shaped around the way people live. He also sketches lucid architectural illustrations that communicate ideas clearly and emotively, from marketing imagery to personal home renders.
